    Tata
    Motors

    revealed
    the
    all-new
    Harrier
    EV
    at
    Auto
    Expo
    2023.
    The
    Tata
    Harrier
    EV
    will
    hit
    our
    streets
    next
    year
    and
    is
    expected
    to
    offer
    a
    range
    of
    up
    to
    500km
    on
    a
    single
    charge.

    In
    this
    first
    look
    review
    of
    the
    Tata
    Harrier
    EV,
    we
    take
    a
    look
    at
    the
    design
    &
    features
    of
    the
    upcoming
    vehicle
    revealed
    at
    Auto
    Expo
    2023
    and
    review
    what
    it
    implies
    for
    the
    future
    of
    the
    SUV.

    Tata
    Harrier
    EV
    Design
    &
    Features

    The
    Tata
    Harrier
    EV
    sports
    quite
    a
    few
    noticeable
    design
    highlights
    that
    set
    it
    apart
    from
    its
    ICE
    sibling
    currently
    on
    sale.
    The
    Tata
    Harrier
    EV
    features
    updated
    looks
    that
    are
    expected
    to
    make
    it
    onto
    the
    production-spec
    EV
    when
    it
    hits
    the
    streets.

    The
    Tata
    Harrier
    EV’s
    front
    end
    is
    quite
    different
    from
    its
    dino-burning
    sibling.
    The
    grille
    is
    mostly
    blanked
    off
    which
    plays
    host
    to
    the
    Tata
    badge.
    The
    LED
    daytime
    running
    lights
    now
    form
    a
    full-width
    lightbar.

    The
    actual
    headlights
    of
    the
    new
    Harrier
    EV
    are
    found
    on
    the
    new
    bumper
    of
    the
    electric
    SUV.
    The
    headlights
    are
    found
    in
    a
    new
    vertical
    stack
    along
    with
    the
    other
    lights.
    The
    new
    bumper
    also
    plays
    host
    to
    a
    perforated
    lower
    section
    that
    sports
    vertical
    slats
    as
    well
    as
    a
    section
    that
    will
    hold
    the
    vehicle’s
    ADAS
    sensor.
    Underneath
    this
    sits
    the
    faux
    skid
    plate.

    The
    biggest
    change
    on
    the
    sides
    of
    the
    Harrier
    EV
    compared
    to
    its
    ICE
    sibling
    come
    in
    the
    form
    of
    the
    new
    wheels
    which
    feature
    what
    appear
    to
    be
    aerodynamic
    elements.
    Also
    seen
    is
    a
    .EV
    badge
    on
    the
    doors
    and
    touchpoints
    that
    open
    said
    doors
    instead
    of
    the
    door
    handle.

    The
    rear
    section
    of
    the
    electric
    SUV
    sports
    a
    Harrier
    EV
    badge
    on
    the
    lower
    section
    of
    the
    bumper.
    However,
    the
    biggest
    change
    comes
    in
    the
    form
    of
    the
    lightbar
    style
    taillights
    with
    the
    Tata
    badge
    immediately
    underneath.

    Other
    features
    include
    the
    integrated
    spoiler
    and
    the
    vertical
    sections
    on
    either
    edge
    of
    the
    bumper
    that
    host
    some
    more
    lights
    and
    the
    faux
    skid
    plate
    that
    juts
    out
    from
    underneath
    the
    front
    bumper.

    The
    interiors
    seem
    mostly
    unchanged,
    though
    we
    do
    expect
    Tata
    to
    fit
    the
    Harrier
    EV
    with
    its
    own
    special
    interior
    buttons
    and
    other
    items
    including
    the
    ones
    for
    the
    regen
    and
    driving
    modes
    the
    electric
    SUV
    will
    surely
    come
    with.

    Tata
    Harrier
    EV
    Powertrain

    Tata
    has
    remained
    quite
    mum
    about
    the
    exact
    details
    of
    the
    Harrier
    EV’s
    powertrain
    though
    there
    the
    firm
    has
    confirmed
    that
    the
    electric
    SUV
    will
    feature
    4×4
    capabilities.
    This
    means
    that
    the
    Harrier
    EV
    will
    feature
    2
    electric
    motors
    (one
    on
    each
    axle)
    and
    since
    this
    is
    a
    Tata
    GEN
    2
    EV,
    a
    range
    of
    up
    to
    500km
    on
    a
    single
    charge.

    Thoughts
    About
    The
    Tata
    Harrier
    EV

    The
    Tata
    Harrier
    EV
    shows
    us
    the
    direction
    this
    SUV
    is
    heading
    in.
    The
    electric
    SUV
    will
    hit
    our
    roads
    next
    year
    and
    we
    expect
    it
    to
    carry
    quite
    a
    premium
    over
    its
    ICE
    siblings.

    Speaking
    of
    the
    ICE
    versions
    of
    the
    Harrier,
    the
    changes
    at
    least
    in
    terms
    of
    design
    are
    also
    expected
    to
    make
    their
    way
    onto
    the
    facelifted
    version
    of
    the
    SUV
    that
    is
    expected
    to
    arrive
    later
    this
    year.
    The
    ICE
    Harrier
    is
    also
    expected
    to
    sport
    Tata’s
    new
    1.5-litre
    turbo
    petrol
    engine
    alongside
    the
    Stellantis-sourced
    diesel.

    Ready
    For
    Production

    The
    Tata
    Sierra
    Concept
    showcased
    at
    Auto
    Expo
    looks
    ready
    to
    hit
    the
    streets
    with
    the
    new
    version
    of
    the
    SUV
    now
    sporting
    a
    more
    regular
    design
    set
    with
    5
    doors
    and
    what
    appear
    to
    be
    a
    rather
    snazzy
    set
    of
    wheels.

    At
    the
    front,
    the
    Sierra
    Concept
    from
    Auto
    Expo
    2023
    sports
    a
    lightbar
    that
    stretches
    across
    the
    width
    of
    the
    front
    end
    of
    the
    SUV.
    Underneath
    the
    lightbar
    sits
    the
    Tata
    badge
    on
    a
    closed-off
    grille.

    The
    front
    bumper
    sports
    triangular
    cutouts
    on
    each
    side
    which
    are
    connected
    together.
    On
    the
    upper
    section
    of
    these
    cutouts
    are
    what
    appear
    to
    be
    more
    lights
    which
    suggest
    that
    the
    production
    car
    could
    sport
    a
    more
    conventional
    split
    headlamp
    setup.
    The
    front
    skid
    plate
    features
    triangular
    extensions
    which
    play
    host
    to
    rectangular
    fog
    lamps.

    The
    sides
    of
    the
    new
    Sierra
    Concept
    sport
    squared-off
    wheelarches
    which
    play
    host
    to
    a
    set
    of
    rather
    nice-looking
    alloys
    which
    do
    look
    like
    they
    could
    enter
    production.

    The
    side
    profile
    of
    the
    concept
    still
    looks
    like
    a
    neo-retro
    version
    of
    the
    OG
    Sierra
    but
    with
    two
    doors
    on
    each
    side.
    The
    thick
    B
    pillar
    looks
    brilliant
    and
    as
    does
    the
    wraparound
    glass
    area.

    At
    the
    rear,
    the
    Sierra
    sports
    a
    sculpted
    rear
    wing
    integrated
    with
    the
    roof
    and
    a
    sleek
    lightbar
    style
    fullwidth
    taillight
    with
    the
    Sierra
    name
    embedded
    into
    it.
    Underneath
    the
    lightbar
    sits
    the
    Tata
    badge
    and
    below
    that
    can
    be
    seen
    a
    properly
    large
    rear
    bash
    plate
    setup
    that
    looks
    to
    be
    able
    to
    handle
    the
    toughest
    of
    hits.

    Step
    inside
    the
    Sierra
    Concept’s
    cabin
    and
    you
    get
    a
    better
    picture
    of
    how
    production-ready
    the
    SUV
    is.
    The
    layered
    dashboard
    has
    a
    mix
    of
    different
    materials
    and
    features
    two
    large
    widescreen
    displays
    for
    the
    infotainment
    and
    the
    instrumentation.

    Sitting
    ahead
    of
    the
    driver’s
    display
    is
    a
    chunky
    flat-bottomed
    steering
    wheel
    with
    capacitive
    and
    scrollable
    controls.
    Lower
    down
    on
    the
    dashboard
    you
    can
    find
    controls
    for
    the
    climate
    control
    setup
    which
    also
    looks
    to
    be
    a
    touchscreen
    unit.

    The
    seats
    of
    the
    Tata
    Sierra
    Concept
    are
    large
    and
    look
    to
    be
    rather
    comfortable.
    The
    concept
    vehicle
    showcased
    at
    Auto
    Expo
    2023
    was
    a
    four-seater
    with
    the
    rear
    seats
    featuring
    some
    rather
    crazy
    large
    headrests.
    A
    version
    of
    the
    Sierra
    SUV
    with
    this
    kind
    of
    layout
    is
    expected
    to
    make
    it
    into
    production
    but
    the
    vehicle
    is
    expected
    to
    be
    mainly
    offered
    as
    a
    five-seater
    when
    it
    arrives
    next
    year.

    Options

    The
    Tat
    Sierra
    shown
    off
    at
    Auto
    Expo
    2023
    was
    an
    EV.
    However,
    the
    Sierra
    is
    expected
    to
    arrive
    in
    both
    EV
    &
    ICE
    guises
    next
    year.
    The
    EV
    version,
    which
    will

    flagship
    model
    based
    on
    Tata’s
    Gen

    The
    ICE
    version
    of
    the
    Sierra
    will
    sport
    the
    new
    1.5-litre
    turbocharged
    petrol
    engine
    that
    Tata
    Motors
    recently
    greenlit
    and
    then
    showcased
    alongside
    a
    new
    1.2-litre
    turbo
    petrol
    engine
    at
    Auto

    2023.
    The

    is
    rated

    and
    280Nm
    and
    is
    expected
    to
    be

    Even

    Concept
    Design
    &
    Features

    Nearly
    Ready
    For
    Production

    The
    Tata
    Sierra
    Concept
    showcased
    at
    Auto
    Expo
    looks
    ready
    to
    hit
    the
    streets
    with
    the
    new
    version
    of
    the
    SUV
    now
    sporting
    a
    more
    regular
    design
    set
    with
    5
    doors
    and
    what
    appear
    to
    be
    a
    rather
    snazzy
    set
    of
    wheels.

    At
    the
    front,
    the
    Sierra
    Concept
    from
    Auto
    Expo
    2023
    sports
    a
    lightbar
    that
    stretches
    across
    the
    width
    of
    the
    front
    end
    of
    the
    SUV.
    Underneath
    the
    lightbar
    sits
    the
    Tata
    badge
    on
    a
    closed-off
    grille.

    The
    front
    bumper
    sports
    triangular
    cutouts
    on
    each
    side
    which
    are
    connected
    together.
    On
    the
    upper
    section
    of
    these
    cutouts
    are
    what
    appear
    to
    be
    more
    lights
    which
    suggest
    that
    the
    production
    car
    could
    sport
    a
    more
    conventional
    split
    headlamp
    setup.
    The
    front
    skid
    plate
    features
    triangular
    extensions
    which
    play
    host
    to
    rectangular
    fog
    lamps.

    The
    sides
    of
    the
    new
    Sierra
    Concept
    sport
    squared-off
    wheelarches
    which
    play
    host
    to
    a
    set
    of
    rather
    nice-looking
    alloys
    which
    do
    look
    like
    they
    could
    enter
    production.

    The
    side
    profile
    of
    the
    concept
    still
    looks
    like
    a
    neo-retro
    version
    of
    the
    OG
    Sierra
    but
    with
    two
    doors
    on
    each
    side.
    The
    thick
    B
    pillar
    looks
    brilliant
    and
    as
    does
    the
    wraparound
    glass
    area.

    At
    the
    rear,
    the
    Sierra
    sports
    a
    sculpted
    rear
    wing
    integrated
    with
    the
    roof
    and
    a
    sleek
    lightbar
    style
    fullwidth
    taillight
    with
    the
    Sierra
    name
    embedded
    into
    it.
    Underneath
    the
    lightbar
    sits
    the
    Tata
    badge
    and
    below
    that
    can
    be
    seen
    a
    properly
    large
    rear
    bash
    plate
    setup
    that
    looks
    to
    be
    able
    to
    handle
    the
    toughest
    of
    hits.

    Step
    inside
    the
    Sierra
    Concept’s
    cabin
    and
    you
    get
    a
    better
    picture
    of
    how
    production-ready
    the
    SUV
    is.
    The
    layered
    dashboard
    has
    a
    mix
    of
    different
    materials
    and
    features
    two
    large
    widescreen
    displays
    for
    the
    infotainment
    and
    the
    instrumentation.

    Sitting
    ahead
    of
    the
    driver’s
    display
    is
    a
    chunky
    flat-bottomed
    steering
    wheel
    with
    capacitive
    and
    scrollable
    controls.
    Lower
    down
    on
    the
    dashboard
    you
    can
    find
    controls
    for
    the
    climate
    control
    setup
    which
    also
    looks
    to
    be
    a
    touchscreen
    unit.

    The
    seats
    of
    the
    Tata
    Sierra
    Concept
    are
    large
    and
    look
    to
    be
    rather
    comfortable.
    The
    concept
    vehicle
    showcased
    at
    Auto
    Expo
    2023
    was
    a
    four-seater
    with
    the
    rear
    seats
    featuring
    some
    rather
    crazy
    large
    headrests.

    version
    of
    the
    Sierra
    SUV
    with
    this
    kind
    of
    layout
    is
    expected
    to
    make
    it
    into
    production
    but
    the
    vehicle
    is
    expected
    to
    be
    mainly
    offered
    as
    a
    five-seater
    when
    it
    arrives
    next
    year.

    arrive
    in
    both

    The

    Concept
    showcased

    Auto
    Expo
    2023
    gave
    us
    a
    good
    look
    into
    the
    next
    flagship
    vehicle
    from
    Tata
    Motors.
    Even
    in
    this
    near-production-ready
    guise,
    the
    Sierra
    looks
    to
    be
    a
    more
    sophisticated
    and
    luxurious
    SUV
    than
    the
    Safari
    and
    we
    expect
    it
    to
    be
    another
    winner
    for
    Tata
    Motors
    when
    it
    arrives
    sometime
    next
    year.
