Scorpion Exhausts Release Renault Megane 225 System

Thanks to Renaultsport’s involvement, the Renault Megane range boasts some seriously desirable models in its line-up. Although they’re all superb performers ‘out of the box’, thanks to Scorpion Exhausts, owners of the oft-admired -04 on 225 models can now have a little more ‘va-va-voom’ at their disposal.

The Scorpion system fits from the catalyst back, retaining both full legality and warranty conformity. Hand-fabricated in aerospace grade T304 stainless steel, the 2.5” diameter tubing is mandrel bent to ensure a constant internal diameter and is optimised to balance the perfect back-pressure for the turbocharger with optimum extraction for maximum power gains.

Owners can specify either a front sports silencer or bypass pipe as the front section to dial in – or out – their desired level of noise. Perfect for ever-decreasing track day dB levels or for those looking to live with a quick car in the real world. The system terminates in two tasteful ‘Monaco’ 90 x 76mm oval tailpipes for an OEM look, with a little extra attitude. While the note is overtly sporty, Scorpion’s engineers have spent many hours of road and dyno testing to ensure that it’s not intrusive in the cabin. Power and torque gains of between 5 and 10% can be expected with huge improvements in mid-range throttle response.

Like all Scorpion systems, this new Megane 225 design benefits from a lifetime warranty to the original owner, making it a true ‘fit and forget’ upgrade. Prices start at just £249 for the rear sports back box rising to £450 for the full cat-back system with two silencers.

Sheffield Cruise 2009

Who said cruising was dead? We arrived WAY early in a retail park in Sheffield, unsure what to expect as to be honest cruising hasnt really been going strongly recently. Soon people started to show up, and then within a few montires it was rammed. Loads of awesome cars, a (totally sound new evo driving) police presence, and there was even a couple of 0ld skool cruise burnouts!
