Tesla Navigation adds two features to make finding points of interest easier

Tesla is adding two new features to its Navigation to make finding points of interest easier than ever.

Tesla Navigation gets as many updates and improvements as just about anything in the company’s tech lineup. Earlier this week, we reported on the inclusion of more accurate construction areas on your route.

It now uses icons instead of just showing a slowdown in the Live Traffic Visualization feature, which is included with a Premium Connectivity subscription.

Tesla’s Navigation gets huge improvement with simple update

However, there are also two other features coming to the Navigation in your Tesla vehicle with Update 2024.32. One will help you find a familiar place by using predictive text, keeping your eyes on the road, and helping find your route quicker. The other will help you find places in an unfamiliar area.

Predictive Text for Navigation

According to Not a Tesla App, Tesla will add Predictive Text to its in-car navigation, which will suggest locations or points of interest based on what has already been typed in.

Predictive text will undoubtedly help find a restaurant, park, or other point of interest much faster, especially as it will suggest things that are in the general vicinity of the vehicle’s location.

Search This Area

A very useful feature on Google Maps, Tesla is adding a “Search This Area” navigation function to the map.

When looking for something in a new area, this is a great feature. I have used it when I am in an area that I am unfamiliar with but need a place to eat.

This will allow the user to zoom in or out as far as what is reasonable for them, and it will automatically show points of interest.

These features will be released soon, and are being tested internally.
